Snoqualmie has been recognized by SafeWise* as the safest city in Washington State based on the most recent FBI crime report statistics and population data.
According to the report, based on 1,000 people in each city, Snoqualmie has only 0.22 incidents of violent crime and 17.06 incidents of property crime. SafeWise calculates the rate of violent and property crimes per 1,000 people to make it easier to directly compare the likelihood of these crimes occurring in cities with vastly different populations.
“The Snoqualmie Police Department is honored to be part of our great community’s efforts that have resulted in Snoqualmie being recognized as the safest city in Washington! This recognition, though appreciated, is no surprise to those who work and live here,” said Snoqualmie Police Chief Perry Phipps.
“A community where its citizens embrace and value a strong collaborative relationship with its police department will always be a strong force in the commitment to safety. Snoqualmie models that culture and commitment.”
The Snoqualmie Police Department serves the cities of Snoqualmie and North Bend, priding itself on “No Call Too Small.”
Snoqualmie has received numerous safety awards in recent years, as well as awards for quality of life and environmental sustainability.
