Affordable Housing Project Begins in Snoqualmie
Snoqualmie, WA – Creating affordable rental housing opportunities in Snoqualmie is a high priority of the City of Snoqualmie City Council and Administration.
To remedy that, a multi-family affordable housing development project in Snoqualmie is underway by Panorama Apartments LLC, a subsidiary of DevCo, an established developer of affordable housing in King County.
“Currently, there is a significant gap in affordable housing available and what many current and potential Snoqualmie residents and employees can comfortably afford,” said Snoqualmie Mayor Matt Larson. “Affordable housing will ensure that Snoqualmie is accessible for families and individuals earning lower than median incomes. It will allow those employed in Snoqualmie to live in Snoqualmie and local employers will be better positioned to retain their employees.”
The apartments will be built on parcel S20 on Snoqualmie Ridge, located north of the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital and adjacent to the Eagle Point neighborhood. Parcel S20 has been designated for multi-family housing since 2004 as part of the conditions of the Snoqualmie Ridge II Mixed Use Final Plan and was designated specifically for affordable housing in 2009.
Although the apartments will be rented at below market rates, they are not subsidized housing.
A description of the development features is available on the City of Snoqualmie website at www.cityofsnoqualmie.org. Architecture and landscaping will be consistent with Snoqualmie Ridge design standards.
Construction Site Access
On September 17, project contractors began mobilization at the project site for tree removal to prepare for grading and utilities installation.
“Although the project has legal access to the site off Frontier Ave SE via SE Jacobia St, based on neighborhood concerns and input during the project’s public comment period, and because of the great support of the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, a separate lower construction access is available via SE 99th St on a hospital access road,” said Mark Hofman, Community Development Director for the City of Snoqualmie. “The project director has scheduled a meeting with all sub-contractors to clarify the preference and direction that construction traffic use SE 99th St, not Frontier Ave SE, specifically for all large equipment. However, some site access activity will still occur legally via Frontier Ave SE.”
City staff will continually monitor the site and adjacent access streets to track compliance.

Rental applications and leasing will be processed directly with DevCo. Applications are not being accepted at this time.
